Hi, I'm Charlie Toone
A BEng Aeronautical Engineering Graduate from Loughborough University.
I've always been interested in cars, motorsport and aircraft. I became particularly drawn to the aeronautical side of things through building and flying RC aircraft and eventually FPV drones. I enjoyed being able to build and then fly an aircraft, gaining first-hand experience of how changes in the design, component selection and configuration affected its flight characteristics. My interest in cars and motorsport also grew from driving simulators, initially on Xbox and later through building my own PC and a more involved racing simulator setup with force feedback. I enjoyed the scientific subjects at college, but wanted to take my understanding of maths and physics and apply it to tangible projects. Engineering therefore felt like a natural fit, bringing together my interests with my enjoyment of understanding how things work.
I enjoy exploring engineering problems through a combination of technical understanding, practical testing and looking at how different parts of a system come together. This portfolio showcases some of the things that have shaped me as an engineer, alongside two projects I have particularly enjoyed exploring.
